Fox/Star 98's Lara Scott Hosts Dogs Gala.
Star 98's Lara Scott graciously hosted The Dogs* gala opening party on Friday night, September 19th at the gallery's Westlake Village location. The event, attended by over two hundred people, marked the opening of Southern CaliforniaÕs first fine art gallery devoted to exclusively to painting, sculpture and photography of dogs and other animals.
Highlighting the evening was the kick-off of a fine-art auction to benefit The Brittany Foundation of Los Angeles and L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue of Agoura Hills. Ms. Scott, shown here with her pal Red, has long been a supporter of the Brittany Foundation which has rescued and placed wonderful dogs (like Red) in many loving homes.
A collector of canine art, Ms. Scott had a chance to interview each of the Dogs six featured artists like Denver's amazing sculptress Dede LaRue who uses canines to illustrate the follies and demons of human enterprises. Ms. LaRue, shown here by her work "Doberman Dominatrix" (one of the hits of the show) is explaining the inspiration for the piece which began with the discipline techniques of her seventh grade nun.
Video clips of Ms. Scott's interviews with the artists will be available on this site in the next few days. Among the many questions that will be addressed is how does Ms. Scott maintain a level of fitness that will permit her to carry her tweny-odd pound dog for an entire evening.
